FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here you will find a list of complete and very practical answers. Don’t forget, our experts are best placed to answer your questions.
ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS MTO APPROVED?
Absolutely! All our instructors are MTO certified, police cleared, mentally and physically fit to provide in-car lessons.
ARE THE COURSE LESSONS ENOUGH?
According to the Ministry of Transportation's requirements, a minimum of ten (10) hours must be completed to qualify for certification. While many students find these 10 hours sufficient, each student has their own learning pace and style. Your in-car instructor will let you know if additional practice is needed. If you feel the 10 hours aren't enough, we offer extra individual driving lessons and packages for more practice. Feel free to contact our office if you'd like to purchase additional hours. We also recommend practicing at home. The more you drive, the more confident you’ll feel when taking your road test. Remember, practice makes perfect!
CAN I START THE COURSE WITHOUT MY G1?
YES! You can begin digital or online course even without your G1, and start the in-car training once you've obtained it
DO YOU PROVIDE GROUP DISCOUNT?
Yes, we offer group discounts for groups of 3 or more. Please get in touch with us, and we'll provide you with the best possible rate.
HOW SOON I CAN GET MY G2 LICENSE?
Once you have your G1 license, the wait time for your G2 is typically 12 months. However, if you complete a BDE course with us, the wait time will be reduced to 8 months.
HOW DO I BOOK MY ROAD TEST?
We'd be happy to assist you in booking your road test. Please call us at 647-770-5756, or you can contact the Drive Test Centre at 1-888-570-6110 or visit www.drivetest.ca
HOW MANY LESSONS WILL I NEED TO LEARN TO DRIVE?
This depends on the individual, as every student has different abilities, needs, levels of experience and different opportunities to practice. Be aware of anyone who “quotes” a number of lessons over the phone as it is impossible, without first assessing your current skill levels. Once one of our Driving Instructors have assessed your current skill level, ability and have ascertained how much practice you can obtain between lessons, we will be able to provide you with an accurate estimate.
Please keep in mind that you can never have too many lessons as the more professional training you have then the safer you will become prior to going solo.
DO YOU OFFER EARLY ROAD TEST BOOKING SERVICE?
Yes, we regularly monitor the road test appointment system and would be happy to assist you. Please give us a call at 647-770-5756.
WHAT PAYMENT METHOD YOU ACCEPT?
We accept payments via Interact, e-Transfer, cash and cheques.
CAN I USE INSTRUCTIOR'S CAR FOR A ROAD TEST?
Yes, you can use the instructor's car for an additional fee, depending on the test center you choose. The car rental for the road test also includes a refresher lesson on the day of the exam. We highly recommend using your instructor's vehicle for the road test, as students tend to feel more comfortable in the car, they’ve learned to drive in. Plus, the school’s roof sign on the car will signal to other drivers that the student is a beginner. City Driving Academy has been in business for over 7 years, and our instructors are highly experienced with road test centers. Examiners recognize that we only bring our students for their tests when they are truly ready to drive, which helps them feel more at ease with a novice driver in the car.
